Chris Kunze is a fourth generation Hastings-on-Hudson resident. He was born in Hastings and later moved to Europe, where he lived from 1965 until 1976. He attended Hastings High School and graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1984, earning his BFA. Chris works as a freelance Art Director and Illustrator in advertising and promotion. He operates out of his home studio.
"Painting recently has become an exercise in the pushing and pulling of color, bringing the viewer in and around the painted surface. I still look for strong compositions driven by the image, only now part of this is done by color itself. Color used as a compositional devise."
